There are moments in life that seem to define who we are, moments that make us laugh, or cry. Moments that make us smile, or melt our hearts a little. Moments that make us think of an old friend, and moments that make us want to go back. Last week I made an impromptu trip to California with my Grams and Gramps and my nephew Jesse. The last time I had taken a trip with Grams and Gramps was before I got married and I just had one of those moments that made a little part of me want to go back.

Moments when I had forgotten how much fun it was to be with someone on their first trip to Disneyland! (that they remember) Tower of Terror has never been funnier than with first timer Jesse!

Grams, so much laughter and talks of old times. Moments that I wished I was a kid again so you could ask me how my day was and we would talk for hours. Shopping all day even if we only buy one thing, we had to go in every store! Things only gals really understand!

Gramps, moments when I realized how much I miss hearing your laughter and jokes everyday. I wonder what the people in the next room thought as we were laughing and reminiscing until after 1 in the morning, because you said you gave up makeup years ago when Grams and I were talking about Fashion Academy and color wheels.

Moments standing on the beach at Newport and wanting to be 18 again to see Grams chasing boys out of the beach house on my senior trip, and rollerblading with Gramps to Balboa every night with cousins and friends for frozen bananas!

Moments when you remember how much fun it is to be a Disneyland with best friends, because it had been awhile since the last time you were there with some. Moments when you laugh so hard you can't breath anymore listening to Andrea scream from her first Screamin ride!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. Can't wait for more!

So we always have a ton of fun with Miss at AGC Western Night! So much laughing and dancing!! Is it just me or does Miss look a little hippie-ish and not western? Love ya! ;)

Hard to believe he smiled for this one! He said it was the only one I would get all night and he stuck by that promise, brat! He also thinks I blushed his cheeks but I didn't, then he said it must be the lighting! I thinks he's cute!

I know, I really don't know what exactly these two are doing, besides doing their best to make me laugh!

I have neglected you horribly. I feel a little bad about it, but sometimes life just gets in the way. I know I have a ton to catch up on, just haven't been in the mood......too much going on in my head and no where to write it. I couldn't skip today though, probably the reason today has been one of those days. Happy Birthday Stephie, not a day goes by that I don't think of you. You would have been 37 today, I have am sure I would given you a hard time about getting old! It is so hard sometimes, without you. When I need a shoulder to cry on, someone to go dancing all night, someone to make me laugh, someone who will call me and sing a crazy good morning song ( I know I used to groan, but I loved it) to get me to go to breakfast. Someone who will wear flashing magic rings we bought at the fair just to be silly. Someone who will run through cemetery's in the middle of the night just to scare ourselves senseless. Someone who goes to 80's hairband concerts with me and still LOVES them! So many hours talking, laughing, just being you, always there, no matter what or when, even when I needed you in the middle of the night. Maybe you only get that person once in your lifetime, only have that kind of connection once, doesn't seem fair though. Stephie, I miss you, miss my best friend every day, it doesn't get easier even 4 1/2 years later, hurts as much, sometimes more.

Meet the new love of my life! This little princess was born Monday, December 7th at 5:11 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 3 ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long! I just want to spend every second I can with her! I am so lucky to be as close to my sister in law Melissa, so I can snuggle with her as much as I want! She is 5 days old in these photo's!

It is so fun to have the same birthday as my sis-in-law Melissa, we are so much alike sometimes I wonder if we were fraternal twins! Golden tickets to Disneyland for our birthday's! YAY! The weather was beautiful, and hey.......it's the Happiest Place on Earth!

Love this! Of course we had to have Debra (other sis-in-law) come along because she loves Disneyland as much and in case baby Madi wanted to some early! Kidding of course!

Tower of Terror, we were scared!! I have never laughed so hard on this ride as we did! We had the best cast member, when the lights go off and the movie came on he just disappeared.....and when the lights came back up he was literally 2 inches from us, made us jump....so funny! Best Tower ride ever!!

I always have mixed feelings this time of year........ part of me is just so excited! I mean who doesn't get excited about the UTES! Seeing friends I haven't seen in a while, the smell of all the bbq's going on in the tailgate lot, bringing a sweatshirt because you know it will be a little chilly at the night game. All the smiles and the excitement that football and fall bring! *Sigh* But it means no more summer camping.......no more boating...this is the hardest part for me!! I just have the hardest time putting away all the things the sunshine lets me enjoy! But oh how fun football season is!!

It was "nothin but a good time" at the Def Leppard & Poison Concert! We loved rockin to the 80's! This is my new friend Misty, it's funny we met at the George Straight concert when Dave was giving me a hard time because this lady kept standing on the railing and me asking her to not. So Misty comes over and tells Dave that she feels the same way and is just like me! It was so funny and we had a great time hanging together and she found me a Def Leppard too! Yay! Misty can't wait for the next concert! So glad we talked Lu & Kevin into Def Leppard over Nickelback! Love you guys!

My niece and nephew got here yesterday from Minnesota to have a vacation with us for the next 3 1/2 weeks! We are going to be busy, but it will so much fun! Gorgeous weather, a small lake, golfing, and getting muddy! Who could ask for a more perfect spot for camping! The Palisades were truly beautiful, I now know why it books up long before spring arrives! We had a great round of golf (forgot my camera) or what I pretend is golf! We got muddy on the quads going up the mountain until we found snow! Went around the lake in a paddle boat with the kids, yes Dave and Colton are also kids! Liz and I got a workout that day! It was so much fun and I am so excited for this time of year!! Yay! Emily, Cody, Bev, Jesse, Robyn, Justin, Coley, Heidi, Liz, Colton, Tiffany, Joe & anyone I missed.....loved it! I am going to warn you all now.....this will be a long post! I have been neglecting my blog lately. I have been busy at work, I am thankful for this, not everyone can say that right now. I have loved having my sister and my nephew here, I just live to see his smile! I am thankful for all of the wonderful people in my life. I know we all have busy lives but it is so awesome to know that I can pick up the phone or send a quick email and know someone is on the other end who will listen. Happy Birthday Stephie...

Sometimes I sit here and say it will get easier and I won't miss you as much as I do. Then I hear a Slaughter song, or Motley Crue, and I get teary eyed thinking of the times we lay down on Brad's floor after the hot tub and dancing all night singing at the top of our lungs! Don't forget the purple palace! Or that time you stood outside in the cold with me to get Janie Lane's autograph! Of course our last concerts hanging backstage with Mark Slaughter and the night before Tommy Lee and Vince Neil! I really miss dancing til 3am with our "cabana boys" and waking up to your good morning song at 8am so we can go to breakfast at Belgiun. I may miss that the most. Nah, probably that you are the only person who would scare themself to death with me in the cemetary at 2 in the morning! But we had our super power rings from the fair....they protected us! I could go on and on.....you always knew when something was wrong....even before I told you. You were always there for me Steph, it's so hard without you. Sometimes I just need my best friend....I am sure you hear me talk to you. I finally finished the decorating! I also went to Gram & Gramps to help them decorate the new tree they bought! Gram & I had so much fun shopping for new ornaments and trying to make the tree look perfect! Saturday night we went to dinner at Market Street (my fave!) with almost all of my BEST FRIENDS! (a few of you were missing...) It was a great birthday dinner....I had so much fun....and realized that we need to do this at least once a month! We laugh so much....have great conversation.......and just enjoy each others company! I am so lucky to have such a fantastic group of friends! Thanks so much guys! LOVE YA! We went to the dunes last weekend and the weather was some of the best I have ever experienced down there! We had a great time with the Ellerbecks! What a fight right until the end! That has got to be the most nail biting, exciting game I have seen in a long time! I was worried about our Utes with two minutes left when they needed a touchdown and a two point conversion.....and they did it! AHHHHHHHH AWESOME! Then good old #35 Louie Sakoda wins the game for us! I love Utah Football! Even if it almost gives me a heart attack! GO UTES!!!!!

Sand Dunes!

We had the first sand dunes trip of the year and it was a blast! We made some new friends and really enjoyed the trip.......it was the most brave trip I have been on! The gang at the top.... Dave & me at the top of the mountain...so funny I was smiling when she took the photo....not like you could tell! Habit..lol! Top of sand mountain, yes I said the top......I went all the way to the top!!! It is an awesome view!
Looking down sand mou ntain.....the way I came up....I know you totally don't believe me, ask Dave and Scott they will tell you I did it! YEAH!!!
This is a mountain I did not attempt, Dave is a total stud......scares me to death....way too steep! He was a trooper waiting for me as much as he did!

Are so dramatic! It is so funny that one minute when you tell them to share, this is the face you get and the world is coming to an end......Two minutes later they have totally forgotten that they were so upset and the world is once again a wonderful place! This is my nephew Payton who is the cutest thing in the world! I love spending time with him, he always keeps me laughing!! The other "kids" playing Wii, my nephew just got home from his mission in WA so we all got together to welcome him home......I know I don't have a photo of him.......by the time I brought out the camera he was gone getting released!

Defa's Ranch

Over Labor Day weekend we went to Defa's Ranch where Jesse & Bev have property. I had never been to the ranch before and it is just beautiful! It was so much fun!

I love the signs! They will make great framed photos for my (someday) cabin!

The one thing we were nervous about was "the bridge" as you can see we have about 1 1/2 inches on each side of the motorhome......so we had to go across very slowly and carefully.And because we had to go across so slowly, this guy decided he didn't want to wait......I call this photo "Impatience" This is the Defa's Heart.......can you see it?

And of course we could not have gone to the ranch without a T.V. and hookup so we could watch the Utes first game against Michigan. GO UTES!!The boys watching the game.This little gals name is Molly, it was hilarious to see her attack pooh Baer, and he was terrified! He ran away from her whenever she came around! Yes this is my big baby running away from a dog smaller than his head! If you look close you can see Molly's bite mark above pooh Baer's eye. The kids having a great time! It was raining when we left on Monday and I loved how the clouds looked sitting on the mountain! Can't wait to go back!

Flaming Gorge..

Went to Flaming Gorge at the end on August with the Caspers, Kollmans, & Devereauxs, had a wonderful time! The gourmet cooking was fantastic! And the Gorge is alway beautiful! Had the pleasure of camping with Gentry, she is gorgeous and such a little doll! Cheryl is the best mom, she never even cries! I took a ton of pictures of her b/c I couldn't resist these are a couple of favorites!

So I haven't updated in a while, I feel like I am always putting the same things up because we do the same thing over and over and over! But here are some pretty cool shots at the lake.

This is surfing and for any of you that have not done this it is so much fun!!!! It doesn't beat you up like wake boarding and skiing, so basically it is for us lazy folks! Don't let my trainer hear that! Yes that is behind my boat! It really is fun and I am getting better each time! We were in Midway for some work meetings and they had a car show. This was a pink and white car that had breast cancer ribbons as the theme. The owner was a survivor. How cool is that?? I really want a pink and white mustang now!
This was just a bridge that I thought would make a neat photo to hang on my wall. So you see life is boring and repetitive at the Turner house! But I thought I should put something!

I know that I am going to make myself look like a total dork, but I can't help it! NKOTB was my very first concert when I was 13. It was outside in Minneapolis and we were in the 3rd row! Here is the proof kids......... it is warm enough to be in the water! And just so you all know this is my favorite time of year! You will see a lot of posts about boating, playing in the water, and camping! So sorry if it gets boring but I just love being outside! What a difference a week makes! Last week the water was 63 this week it was 72! It really wasn't that cold even I got in! Not documented because the boys threw me in but I stayed in for a while after that! So no more excuses everyone can come out to play! And you are all welcome!!

It is so fun to be boating! Dave is improving his wakeboarding skills! And you just can't beat the beautiful scenery! Coley, after a particularly hard fall because of a sweet jump! The kids, Tim & Topher were brave enough to get in the water at 63 degrees I am not at all! And you can see the boys still sport the drysuit! I did sit on the swim platform for about 2 minutes and that was enough for me! Hopefully in the next week the water will be warm enough to get in so I can work on my own skills (or maybe just my tan we'll see!)

To all of those who have fought for the freedom I enjoy everyday thank you.
When we went to Pearl Harbor it was a very moving experience for me. It made me realise all of the things I enjoy now is because someone paved the way by fighting for those freedoms.
I realized these things are what I take for granted everyday and there are a lot of people that don't enjoy what I do and made my problems seem trivial. So I wanted to say thank you to all the soldiers brave enough to fight for our country.

It was so much fun to finally be in the boat and on the water! I seriously almost forgot what it was like to have warm weather and sunshine!

And as you can see Flaming Gorge was beautiful!
I love camping right next to the water, you just can't beat that view!

The weather was perfect and the sun was shining when I noticed the moon was also starting to rise, I thought it would make a cool picture!
The water was very cold as you can see as my lovely husband models the drysuit that was donned for the first wakeboarding of the season! He is concentrating very hard to get his "baby belly" just right can you tell? Awesome! Maybe a little rusty.......Then we have pro Tyson who got awesome air! He got even higher but it was so fast I did not get a good picture! I can't wait for the water to warm up so I can work on my skills!

In all it was a fantasctic weekend and I can hardly wait for this weekend to take the boat out again! Now we all have to pray it won't rain the entire holiday weekend!

1st Camping trip of the YEAR!!!

We were so excited to get out on the first camping trip of the year! It was a little scary because we were unsure of the weather, but we anticipated the trip for so long we just said we don't care about the weather we will have fun anyway!

And here was Friday, a little windy for a couple hours, but really a okay day and certainly warmer than Salt Lake so we were happy!

We are going to Hawaii in April for vacation and to see Dave's parents on their mission and this is the picture we get???? I am scared of spiders! If I see one of these come near me you will hear me scream in Utah!! Look how big it is!!!!!!! Yes it is 4 1/2 inches long and according to dad has a nasty sting if it gets you!! Mabey I don't want to go.............yeah right but I will have to bring my superpowers to deal with things that look like this, and we just won't tell Heidi it is real it can just be a joke, you know because of her killer fish stories and all. I'll have to tell you about that sometime! But at least with Heidi and Coley and Dave mabey we can beat all the creapy crawly things. If I see a house spider that I have heard are as big as a dinner plate, I know I will be buried in Hawaii from having a heart attack. But I can't miss all that sunshine!

And of course another chance to see Coley posing in the pool for um Dave yeah I know but it is soooooo funny! He totally pulled a Castanza! Can't wait to get another picture like this! And hopefully there will be a place for Dave to go down a slide so I can get a picture like this! Ahhh looking at all the pictures from last years trip makes it hard to wait another month! Hopefully it will fly by and when I come home the SNOW will be gone for the season!!

Economy and the Markets

So the big headlines on the news today is DOW DOWN 300. Why is it that we didn't see at the beginning of the week DOW UP 250 or 98 the next day or UP 45? You will if you watch CNBC but not the regular news. Why? Because bad things get better ratings. Think about the last time you saw a story on the news that made you want to smile. I know it really is hard. They are out there just few and far between. We are headed for some rough times but the people of America are very resilient and things have to slow down sometimes, or greed needs to be corrected it's the way it is. All the sensational headlines though? Why listen to them, it is just depressing. Your 401K will come back, take a look at it though, have you been too greedy and put everything into one sector because it was the best return in the last year? A lot of people do that, it doesn't work. Something that goes up 5 years straight at 30% won't do that forever! Just like home prices can't go up 20-30% every year without some type of correction. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that people are not in trouble, but if you took a loan for something that you knew you would not be able to afford in normal times you shouldn't have. Hopefully we will get some regulation on the mortgage brokers who mislead people as well talking about it only being about "the payment". When I built my new house a few years ago before interest rates started going back up my mortgage guy tried to get me to do some crazy stuff, they were at 40 year lows! Think they will go down from there? Probably not! This country is pretty resilient, we will be fine, a few may have to hurt but it will get better. Stay the course don't panic and for goodness sake stop listening to the news! Just kidding! I love information, but take it with a grain of salt, and remember the "experts" that predict things are WRONG 70% of the time. Set goals and stick to them do not base decisions on emotion of fear!

It has been 2 1/2 years since cancer took you from me and today is your birthday. I still think of you everyday and wonder how I have made it without you. I still talk to you, I hope you are listening, I think you are. I miss you so much. I know that you are in a place where there is no pain and you are thinking how crazy it is that I am crying over you because you are in a better place. But I still cry because I miss my best friend. Oh Stephie, you were taken way too soon and too young, there was so much we still needed to do together. Happy birthday to my best friend, I miss you and love you. It still hurts that your not here with me.

So about a week ago we were able to go to a work party of my sister in law Melissa's. It was so fun! It has a western theme, which you can see all of us stuck to! But it reminded me how much fun I have with my extended family and that I really need to hang out with them more often! They have a beautiful little boy named Payton who I do have pictures of but they are on another computer. I will have to put some on later. Anyway it was great fun with them, and I am so glad to have such a wonderful extended family! I really have a great time with all of them! When Dave's parents left for their mission I was really sad because we really were going to miss them, but also because of the monthly dinners at mom's! I am happy to say that we still get together for dinner (good, but we still miss mom's cooking) ! So Melissa & Brian, thanks for being so great that I actually want to see you guys! And to out parents in Hawaii on their mission, I can't wait to see you guys in April!

Dave's new hobby

So Dave has picked up yet
another hobby/sport yep that is him now riding a dirtbike! Not that he has never ridden before but now he is getting back into it yet again! I know like we need another thing to keep us from doing stuff like finishing the basement or staying home once in a while on the weekends! I have to admit though I am getting some serious spring fever! That I am posting these pictures proves that! He got a KTM bike in November and they were riding then because it had not snowed yet! Now I am wishing the snow was gone and we could take the motorhome out of storage and go anywhere warmer than here!

Like there riding the quads! I just keep reminding myself that we are going to Hawaii in April to see Dave's parents(on their mission) and a little R&R and sunshine and ocean! Only 3 more months! We will probably have the first camping trip in March though, and that is only two months away! Who's going????? Sand Dunes!

My little sister Lizzie just had her first baby! Isn't he beautiful! I can't believe that the "baby" (she's 21 now) just had a baby! What a trooper too because he is a big boy!

I am sure to his mother though he was worth every bit of getting him here! He was about a week early and apparently that was a good
thing because as it was the doctor was concerned

that she was going to have to have a C-section because he was so big! But lucky for mom she was able to have him natural and after a little jaundice mom and baby are doing well! I have to admit too that I am a little jealous! Someday I will get pregnant............ I am going to keep saying that like the little engine that could!!!! Congrats Liz! He is beautiful and I can't wait to meet him in person! Come see us soon!!!!! Love you!!

We have had so much fun having my sister and her kids out for Christmas, even though it has seemed like we were running around a lot, kids are the heart of Christmas! And look at the adorable ones that I had the honor of spending it with! I really am going to feel lost without them!!!
They are such a joy! For all of you out there that sometimes just don't want your siblings around because they drive you crazy sometimes, it is soooo much better to have them close than have them 1500 miles away!! I love you Jesse & Sarah!

It is crazy! To think that Christmas is only 8 days from now. I have no idea how it will all come together but hopefully it will. Things are always so busy at this time of year! So much to do.... my sister Melanie from Minnesota is coming with my nephew Jesse (15), and niece Sarah (4). ON WEDNESDAY! I know it will be so much fun having them here for "Santa" , it means more presents under the tree anyway! But it is so stressful trying to get my house in order for them! Not that it's that bad but you know how it is when people come you want it to be perfect! I probably go a little overboard worrying about if the beds are going to be comfortable enough or if I need to go and get a foam topper or something! Or if the sheets aren't cute enough! It is so dumb because it is just my sister for heavens sake! I really am excited or I will be when there is not any time to stress out about it anymore. I love Christmas I just want my house to look like Modern Display! I know, ridiculous because I am NOT Martha Stewart by any means! Well I am going to go and clean something or find different sheets or mabey I will go and run on the treadmill and say forget it! Hope you are all running around as much as me! Where ae you Christmas?

I know, I know it is so corny, but I had to get a picture of the "sign"! Okay so I am a little bit of a total nerd!

With the bull on Wall Street! Mabey it will bring luck to the markets when I hang this in my office!!! Lets hope!

So I was in New York on my birthday last month for business, I know not fun! But I decided to make the most of it! I saw Phantom on Broadway! It was so amazing, I had chills like the whole time! I was lucky I saw it two days before Broadway went on strike!

So these are our "kids"! Sampson 6, is on the left and Baer 5, on the right knawing away. They also love camping and water and general rough housing just like typical boys their age. They might look a little scary but in fact they are very lovable and think they are lap dogs. They love anyone who gives them any attention!

So this is us at Disneyland in July and the one below is camping I think at East Canyon.

So a few things about Dave and I are we are about to have our 9 year wedding aniversary in a couple of weeks! It is crazy I know I think we are the oldest married couple in the state of Utah that still does not have kids! We have two very sweet dogs Sampson and Baer. I am a financial advisor and Dave is a wholesaler for Hearth & Home. We love to go camping, and vacationing and we sure did a lot of it last summer! We just bought a new boat in August. And we certainly know how to have fun!

Okay here goes! This seems to be the way of the world and the way everyone stays in touch so I am creating a blog so that everyone that I never see knows what I am up to! I started looking at blogs because my cousin Megan had a baby and was posting info and pictures. From there I found all sorts of people from way back that I have not seen in forever! So it has been fun finding out what everyone has been up to. I am going to post this and try to figure out how to add pictures.
